The Suzuki Academy of Columbia is an established and growing nonprofit music program located in the Midlands of South Carolina and closely affiliated with the University of South Carolina School of Music.

Private lessons and group classes are offered weekly from September to May each year with a flexible summer and winter break lesson schedule.

We are seeking a violin teacher to add to our team, who would inherit a full studio from a teacher that will be moving, and to take new incoming students.

Columbia is approximately two hours from the beach and two hours from the mountains and offers many freelance opportunities to professional musicians.

Teach weekly private lessons and group classes, attend and lead student performances, collaborate and meet regularly with faculty, possible chamber music coaching and other opportunities for growth.

Master’s degree in performance or pedagogy and registered SAA Teacher Training (through book 4 preferred); commitment to the Suzuki philosophy, willingness to participate in additional teacher training, ability to work as part of a team, leadership qualities and strong communication skills. Willingness to pursue SECE training would be a plus.

Hourly wage is commensurate with experience; annual stipend for continuing education/training
