Job Responsibilities
Provides instruction to students enrolled in introductory-level art courses. This is an in-person position that will be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools. Duties include conducting appropriate learning activities, maintaining effective instructional management, participating in all required orientations, meetings, and trainings, adhering to all college-designated deadlines, and participating in Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessments.
This position is located on various Midlands Technical College campuses and off-campus instructional sites.
Master's degree in Art, or master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in art.
Preferred QualificationsMaster of Fine Arts in Studio Art strongly preferred. Demonstrated interest and expertise in teaching studio art and art history courses to diverse student populations highly preferred. Experience teaching 3D art strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience in teaching to diverse student populations at a two-year college also preferred.
Additional CommentsAdjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College's established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $2,802 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.
