Tri-County Technical College provides free academic support for all students enrolled  Learning Commons offers one-on-one professional tutoring for a variety of content areas, including but not limited to: math, sciences, engineering, psychology, business courses, and nursing and health sciences, along with writing across all content areas. We are currently seeking qualified WRITING AND DOCUMENTATION Tutors with at least a bachelor’s degree, professional experience in writing or publishing, or experience teaching English courses.

Undergraduate students showing exceptional ability through transcripts and faculty recommendation are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of writing across the curriculum and be confident and proficient helping students apply the conventions of APA and MLA guidelines to their writing. Potential tutors should feel comfortable working one-on-one, in small groups, or online with students. Tutors may also be asked to create handouts, develop learning modules, and perform other tasks as needed. Tutors have the opportunity to become certified through the College Reading and Learning Association.

• At least a Bachelor’s degree with major or minor emphasis in content area
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Word processing and basic computer skills
• Eagerness to work with a diverse student population

• Extensive experience in content area through advanced degrees or work experience
• Experience with tutoring or other peer-assisted learning models
• Experience navigating common software in higher education, such as Blackboard or Starfish
