As an essential part of a collaborative school team, you will work in resource, push-in, and pull-out settings, making a meaningful difference for diverse learners. Your classroom support is enhanced by para educators, allowing you to focus on impactful instruction and individualized attention.
This full-time position follows a traditional school schedule, running Monday through Friday from 7:15 am to 3:30 pm. With a manageable caseload of 36 students, you’ll help deliver specialized education plans tailored to each learner’s needs and encourage academic and social growth.
Qualifications and Desired
Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience teaching or working with K-6th grade students in special education environments
- Knowledge of IEP processes and accommodations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with resource, push-in, and pull-out instructional models
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs for students on your caseload
- Adapt and modify curriculum to address varying learning styles and needs
- Coordinate with paraprofessional support for instructional and behavioral interventions
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and service providers
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom culture where every student can thrive
