Job Responsibilities
The Academic and Career Advisor facilitates academic plan development, career advising, registration assistance, and academic strategy cultivation with an assigned caseload of newly admitted students, students in their first semester of enrollment, and continuing students, aimed at student success, persistence, retention, progression, and completion. This position maintains thirty (30) hours of advising availability per week, participates in ongoing training provided by the Center and assigned academic department(s), facilitates early interventions, and regularly uses available technologies to ensure accurate and effective advising.
Thisposition will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport and Beltline Campus. Minimum And Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree and experience in student service programs.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in student services programs/academic advising, or an earned Master's degree. Direct academic advising experience in a community/technical college setting, including managing a caseload, leading interventions, leveraging technology to document academic advisement and student support, and the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification.
