Job Summary: The 21st CCLC Certified Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality academic enrichment, educational support, and engaging learning experiences for students participating in the Boys & Girls Club's 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program. This position works directly within the school setting and collaborates with school personnel, Boys & Girls Club staff, students, and families to support student achievement and the overall goals of the 21st CCLC program.

The Certified Teacher will use their professional teaching experience and knowledge of educational standards to develop and facilitate engaging, standards-aligned activities that complement the students' regular school-day instruction.

Qualifications:

Required:

Current teaching certification/license, bachelor's degree; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired:
Master’s degree or higher; teaching certificate in areas of math, English language arts, social studies, science; services. Experience working in an after-school, extended learning, or community-based program. Experience with 21st CCLC or other federally funded education programs, grant reporting, program evaluation, or student outcome data and experience working with diverse student populations and varying academic needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging academic enrichment activities aligned with school-day learning and appropriate academic standards.
• Provide homework assistance, tutoring, academic intervention, and enrichment opportunities based on student needs.
• Develop hands-on learning experiences in areas such as literacy, mathematics, STEM, technology, college and career readiness, and other program focus areas.
• Differentiate instruction and activities to meet the varying academic, developmental, and learning needs of participating students.
• Monitor student participation, engagement, and academic progress.
• Incorporate project-based, experiential, and hands-on learning strategies into programming.
• Support students in developing positive study habits, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and confidence as learners.

• Implement programming consistent with the approved 21st CCLC grant objectives, requirements, and program plan.
• Maintain accurate student attendance and participation records.
• Assist with collecting and documenting student outcomes and program data.
• Participate in required assessments, surveys, evaluations, and reporting activities.
• Ensure activities support identified 21st CCLC outcomes and student needs.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of lesson plans, activities, student progress, and program participation.
• Participate in required 21st CCLC and Boys & Girls Club training and professional development.

• Build positive, supportive relationships with Club members while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Incorporate Boys & Girls Club's mission, core values, and youth development practices into daily programming.
• Encourage student leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and positive decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with Youth Development Professionals and other Club staff to provide a well-rounded program experience.
• Assist with behavior management using positive youth development and appropriate classroom management strategies.
• Follow all Boys & Girls Club and school policies regarding student safety, supervision, confidentiality, and mandated reporting.

• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other school personnel.
• Communicate appropriately with school staff regarding student needs and program activities.
• Support communication with families regarding student participation, academic support, and program opportunities.
• Participate in family engagement activities and events as required by the program.
• Serve as a positive representative of the Boys & Girls Club within the school and surrounding community.

• Ability to actively supervise and engage with school-age youth.
• Ability to move throughout classrooms, activity areas, and school facilities.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and participate in activities with students.
• Ability to lift and carry program materials and supplies as needed.
