Responsible for the oversight and management of the student engagement unit, including student activities, student organizations, and student leadership. Serves as the primary student conduct and Title IX investigator. Ensures functions are represented in a multi-campus environment. Works closely with Dean on complex projects, tasks, and issues and occasionally represents the Dean on committees, boards, etc. Leads and collaborates with units in the Student Affairs division and cross-campus units to create and deliver programs and services focused on a creating a positive and engaging student experience.
Employee will report to the Dean of Students and is part of the Student Development division within the Division of Student Affairs. Employee works collaboratively with other departments throughout the College to create a sense of belonging and provide a safe and productive curricular and co-curricular learning environment. Employee must be able to work autonomously and be comfortable with a flexible work environment.
Job Functions:- DEPARTMENTAL LEADERSHIP AND
COLLABORATION:
Lead and manage key departmental initiatives, projects, and operations. Participate in College initiatives and projects to support Student Development efforts and advocate for student success. Create and deliver training and continuing development for students and employees on applicable student development theory, policy and procedure, incident response, policy enforcement, incident response, and student due process procedures;
Advise College employees about policy interpretation and student due process. - STUDENT ENGAGEMENT:
Creates and implements a strategic, holistic programming model related to student co-curricular and social engagement as well as student advocacy programming from broad, campus-wide impact to class specific sessions and individualized development. Leads campus-wide teams which address advocacy issues and coordinate student engagement efforts. Provide oversight and management for Student Engagement personnel, both full-time and part-time. Manages related budgets. - ACCOUNTABILITY:
Receive and investigate complaints under the College’s Student Code; recommend appropriate outcomes, including sanctions, to the Dean of Students; create and maintain accurate student conduct records; ensure sanction compliance and follow-up as needed. Serve as a Title IX investigator. Collaborate with TCTC offices and partner institutions to provide preventive programming and post-investigative support to students. - STUDENT AD VOCATION:
Coordinate integration of programs to support student sub-populations . Advise and/or advocate for student sub-populations and student organizations. Lead student advisory councils and groups. Educate students about civil rights, college policies and procedures, and appropriate conflict resolution. Serve as key member of TC Cares, the College’s core behavioral intervention team. - OTHER:
