- Provide temporary or ongoing leadership to the LTS campus identified by the superintendent as having the greatest need
- Report directly to the superintendent
- Lead the assigned campus in alignment with LTS policies, procedures, mission, vision, core values, and educational model
- Supervise assigned campus staff and work with district leaders to strengthen instruction, student achievement, staff performance, school culture, safety, and operations
- Assess instructional, staffing, operational, safety, and cultural needs
- Establish priorities and action plans with the superintendent and district leaders
- Provide stable leadership during vacancies, transitions, growth, or periods of increased need
- Maintain continuity of campus programs, communications, operations, and student services
- Document priorities, actions, outcomes, and unresolved matters for effective handoff
- Apply district policies, procedures, and accountability expectations
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs aligned with state and district standards
- Establish campus goals and use student performance data to monitor progress, identify needs, and guide interventions
- Conduct at least five classroom visits, provide feedback, and complete formal employee evaluations
- Set performance expectations, recognize strong performance, and address concerns through coaching, remediation, or corrective action
- Hire, supervise, develop, and retain staff with Human Resources and district leadership
- Plan professional development and foster a collaborative professional culture
- Maintain a safe, orderly, positive, and achievement-focused campus
- Promote attendance, enrollment, retention, citizenship, character development, and academic success
- Apply student discipline expectations and communicate with parents or guardians
- Build relationships with students, employees, families, community organizations, media, and other schools
- Address concerns and oversee timely campus communications
- Communicate the district's and school's mission, goals, and expectations
- Oversee campus budget, purchasing, staffing schedules, student records, attendance reporting, facilities, and resource allocation
- Direct short- and long-term campus planning
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, district policies, training, and reporting obligations
- Maintain emergency procedures and fire drill, lockdown, evacuation, and other safety requirements
- Monitor buildings and grounds and coordinate maintenance or safety needs
- Evaluate campus programs, systems, and technology and recommend improvements
- Participate in district committees, special projects, meetings, events, and other assigned duties
- Master's degree in education, educational administration, educational leadership, or a related field
- Current Principal Certification
- Must pass a criminal history background check
- At least five years of successful teaching experience
- At least five years of school administration experience
- At least two years of experience in charter school operations
- At least three years of experience leading at a turnaround school
Demonstrates strong leadership in educational settings, with a focus on improving student achievement, staff performance, and school culture. Capable of developing and implementing educational programs aligned with state and district standards while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
