The Teacher – Special Education provides instructional support, develops and implements individualized education programs (IEPs), facilitates academic, behavioral, social, and daily living skill development, monitors progress, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with teachers, staff, parents, and administrators.

• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate or eligibility in the appropriate certified area.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).

• Plan and deliver lessons, activities, and adaptations aligned with IEP goals.
• Assess student progress, produce reports, and communicate with parents and staff.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Collaborate with instructional staff, administrators, and community resources.
• Maintain classroom behavior, supervise students and teaching assistants, and ensure safety.
• Provide specialized services such as first aid and care for medically fragile students.
• Assist in early recognition and prevention of educational problems.

• Provide remedial assistance to groups or individuals as scheduled.
• Keep classroom environment clean and orderly.
• Perform related duties as required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship or work visa required.
