Job Summary

The Senior International Student Advisor is a key part of Global Carolina’s International Student and Scholar Support office. This position serves as the primary advisor to the F-1 and J-1 international student population on the subjects of maintaining immigration compliance as well as international travel, full-time enrollment, work authorization, and program extensions. This position also focuses on employment authorization education through the facilitation of employment workshops and serves as a liaison with campus partners to ensure international student needs are met in a timely manner.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Strong word processing skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize competing tasks
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with the general public and as a team member
  • Ability to handle public inquiries effectively and communicate with culturally diverse clientele
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Banner, Ellucian software, and SEVIS databases.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with diverse clientele of a predominantly non-native English-speaking population
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with a strong working knowledge of Excel
