OVERVIEW The Senior International Student Advisor at the University of South Carolina supports the international student community through Global Carolina’s International Student and Scholar Support office. This role serves as the primary advisor for F-1 and J-1 student populations, helping students understand immigration compliance, travel guidance, enrollment requirements, and employment authorization processes. The position also works closely with campus partners to support student success and timely services.
Keyresponsibilities
- Serves as the primary advisor to F-1 and J-1 international student populations
- Advises students on maintaining immigration compliance
- Provides guidance related to international travel
- Supports students with full-time enrollment questions and processes
- Advises on work authorization and program extensions
- Facilitates employment workshops focused on employment authorization education
- Serves as a liaison with campus partners to help ensure international student needs are met in a timely manner
- Experience advising F-1 and J-1 international student populations
- Knowledge of immigration compliance
- Understanding of international travel guidance for student populations
- Familiarity with employment authorization processes
- Ability to facilitate workshops and educational programming
