PWR Long Handle Tool Technician– Oconee Nuclear Outage

  • Location: Oconee Nuclear Station – Seneca, South Carolina
    Assignment: Oconee Nuclear Refueling Outage – 27-Day Outage
    Travel Date: October 4, 2026
    Pay: Approximately $55/hour
  • Mobilization/Demobilization: Travel time is paid at the applicable hourly rate for up to 12 hours each way. Mobilization per diem is paid at the applicable rate of $68 or $200
    , based on the selected per diem option. Demobilization per diem is paid at $68

Job Summary

The PWR Long Handle Tool Technician will support TNC Services' work during the upcoming 27-day refueling outage at Oconee Nuclear Station. This is a specialized, hands-on nuclear outage role requiring prior commercial nuclear experience and direct experience performing long-handle tooling work.

Technicians will support reactor services and maintenance activities through the safe setup, assembly, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of long-handle tooling and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, set up, operate, inspect, and disassemble long-handle tooling and associated equipment in support of outage activities.
  • Perform hands-on work using specialized long-handle tooling for reactor vessel, refueling, maintenance, inspection, retrieval, component handling, and related activities.
  • Read and follow approved procedures, work packages, drawings, and site-specific instructions.
  • Inspect tooling before, during, and after use and identify damaged, worn, or improperly functioning equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, maintain, and support repair of long-handle tooling and associated equipment as required.
  • Maintain positive control and accountability of tools, components, and equipment throughout assigned work.
  • Follow Foreign Material Exclusion (FME), radiological protection, human performance, safety, quality, and procedural requirements.
