From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life.
The Senior Roadway Engineer will work on urban roadway design projects in South Carolina, performing technical leadership, quality assurance, and client interaction while supervising staff and delivering solutions that meet our high standards of innovation and technical excellence.
Responsibilities- Serve in the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projects.
- Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems.
- Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.
- Assume project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
- Supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as required.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- MSCE.
- Experience with Micro Station, InRoads, Microsoft Office applications.
- Local candidates are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams.
- Project management skills desirable.
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans.
- Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
