Senior Product Development Engineer at Stanadyne
As a Senior Product Development Engineer at Stanadyne, you will play a key role in driving innovation and ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of new automotive products. You will lead cross‑functional teams through all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept through to production, ensuring products meet customer and company quality, cost, and performance standards. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills, as well as the ability to solve complex engineering challenges in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
:
- Lead the development and launch of new automotive products, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to develop innovative solutions and improve product performance.
- Drive product design and engineering activities, including concept development, CAD modeling, prototyping, and testing.
- Analyze and optimize product designs to meet cost, performance, and manufacturability targets.
- Manage product validation processes, including design reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure product durability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure high‑quality materials and components are used in the production of new products.
- Prepare and present technical reports, design proposals, and updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes, ensuring that product designs are competitive and compliant.
- Support the transition of new products from development to full‑scale production, troubleshooting any issues that arise during manufacturing.
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in product development engineering, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive product design, development processes, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools.
- Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and other quality and testing methodologies.
- Proven track record of leading complex product development projects from concept to production.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to apply innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and certifications related to automotive manufacturing.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles is a plus.
