• Serve as an expert cloud architecture resource on the Infrastructure Hardware team, designing and providing production support for on‑premise software, hardware, and cloud infrastructure that supports the agency’s strategic business initiatives.
• Provide technical management for network components, including installations, updates, configurations, and troubleshooting of firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, wireless, servers, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
• Offer architectural expertise and direction, supplementing support and maintenance functions with a focus on infrastructure and cloud infrastructure design.
• Determine feasibility, cost, equipment needs, and time constraints for assigned projects.
• Make design recommendations for the entire network and create detailed Visio diagrams.
• Provide knowledge transfer and training on supported systems to ensure business continuity.
• Develop compliance documentation for the network and assist network analysts in classifying information assets based on the data classification schema.
• Monitor the status and effectiveness of controls, providing reports, and assist auditors and security staff in reviewing network systems or processes to identify compliance‑related vulnerabilities.
• Participate in scan remediation, on‑site reviews, penetration testing, and checking controls of network components.
• Analyze network efficiency, diagnose and correct network problems, and monitor and report on network traffic, usage, and performance.
• Research new technologies with an emphasis on compatibility with our environment, providing guidance that leads to solutions aligned with our strategic initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
• Experience in business administration, computer science, mathematics, engineering, management information science, networking‑telecommunications, and/or data processing in an on‑premises, cloud‑based, or hybrid environment.
• Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year‑for‑year basis or with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).
• Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Travel required to provide support for SCDOR district offices or data centers, including some overnight travel.
• Participation in a shared on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 support as needed.

• At least three years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and implementation.
• Advanced experience in designing and implementing enterprise‑level infrastructure on premise.
