Job Summary
As a Controls Team Leader at Trane, you will provide leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team of Controls Technicians who install, program, commission, and service building automation systems. You will coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure high‑quality execution, adherence to project requirements, and exceptional system performance.
Location:
On‑Site (5 days per week).
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Controls Technicians, including training, development, and performance guidance.
- Oversee installation, programming, and commissioning activities to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for control systems and related equipment, assisting technicians with resolving complex issues.
- Review and validate system diagnostics, analysis, and commissioning reports to ensure optimal system performance.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to plan workloads, allocate resources, and meet project timelines.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers, providing expert guidance and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of system installations, commissioning results, and service activities.
- Monitor adherence to company standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, team efficiency, and project execution.
- Foster a collaborative, safe, and high‑performing team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC, electronics, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC controls or building automation systems; leadership or mentoring experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in programming and commissioning building automation systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building automation, and control theory.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control documentation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while leading and supporting a team environment.
