Job Description
- Under general supervision, gathers, compiles, and analyzes land use, economic forecasting, population growth, and other related data to evaluate impacts of transportation projects on water resources, air quality, and environmental impact studies and plans.
- Reviews existing models and recommends improvements/changes as necessary.
- Performs field investigations, surveys, studies, and other research to compile and analyze data on environmental impacts for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) evaluations.
- Contributes to firm's Technical Knowledge by assisting in the development of white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
- Performs other duties as required.
- May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for conferences.
- Attends public meetings and engagements with stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related discipline. 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Skills& Abilities
Demonstrate solid knowledge of large-scale land use principles and methods, including analysis of relative costs and benefits. Understand and apply knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and government processes, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), executive orders, agency rules, court procedures, and the democratic political process. Apply engineering science and technology principles, techniques, and procedures to design solutions and deliver project outcomes.
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills for stakeholder engagement and project documentation.
