Job Overview

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. is seeking a hands‑on licensed duty engineer with unlimited waters certification for a small freight ship. The engineer will be familiar with Caterpillar 3412 engines and 50‑cycle Caterpillar generators. Travel to and from the vessel is paid. The work schedule includes rotating trips and shore‑side maintenance.

• USCG license as Chief Engineer or Designated Duty Engineer of any horsepower (unlimited waters)
• STCW Basic Training
• STCW Medical Certificate
• Engine Room Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch – STCW III/1
• Chief Engineer – STCW III/2
• Proficiency in Survival Craft – STCW IV/1 (Lifeboatman)
• Advanced Firefighting – STCW VI/3
• Medical First Aid – STCW VI/4
• Security Awareness – STCW VI/6
• TWIC
• Passport
• Valid driver's license
• International travel vaccine record
• Must be able to travel 30 to 60 days per trip
• Detailed work history
• Minimum 5 years of ocean sailing experience
• Minimum 5 years of sea service with at least 2 years as Chief Engineer
• Valid work references
• Experience with Safety Management Systems
