Graduate Financial Aid Counselor

The primary role of the graduate financial aid counselor is to provide excellent customer service to current and prospective graduate students. The duties of the graduate financial aid counselor include advising students and recruitment staff regarding financial aid concerns, student aid awarding and packaging student financial aid files.

• Respond to inquiries via telephone, e-mails, and walk-ins.
• Counsel current and prospective students regarding financial aid concerns – including completing a FAFSA, federal verification requirements, file status and aid eligibility.
• Participate as a financial aid representative at recruitment and orientation events.
• Provide award estimate information for online recruiters.
• Award all graduate level student population including doctoral students.
• Coordinate and award all athletic and academic graduate assistantships.

• Counseling/customer service experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with student information systems preferred.
• At least 2 years of financial aid experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience required.
