Our client is a fast-growing manufacturing company backed by a global parent company. As the business continues to scale in the US market, they are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the finance function for the US entity.

This role is central to building strong financial infrastructure, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and strengthening internal controls and compliance. The Controller will also serve as a key business partner to US leadership, helping drive decisions around profitability, cash flow, working capital, and operational performance.

This is an onsite role in Duncan, SC.

Essential Duties & Functions
  • Own the US general ledger and ensure accurate, complete, and timely month-end close in accordance with US GAAP
  • Oversee all balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, accruals, and financial transactions
  • Manage inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations, reserves, manufacturing cost accounting, and cost allocations
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax reporting across multiple states and support broader tax compliance with external advisors
  • Coordinate external audits and tax filings, providing documentation, schedules, and analysis as needed
  • Oversee AR/AP and daily accounting operations through a Financial Assistant, including training, task allocation, and oversight
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, including approval workflows, segregation of duties, and documentation standards
  • Partner with external advisors and group finance to ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process standardization, automation, and efficiency in finance operations
  • Monitor, analyze, and forecast cash flow, identifying risks and mitigation actions
  • Partner with operations and leadership to optimize inventory levels, purchase commitments, and overall working capital
  • Ensure strong discipline around AR/AP processes and adherence to company policies
  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, including assumptions, scenario planning, and variance analysis
  • Provide financial insights and decision support to US leadership, including pricing, profitability, and operational performance analysis
  • Serve as a key finance partner to the VP of US operations and broader leadership team
Qualifications
  • 5 to 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close responsibilities
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial, or operations-heavy environments strongly preferred
  • Experience owning a full set of books preferred
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes, controls, and reporting structures in a growing organization
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including accrual accounting, reconciliations, and core reporting principles
  • Experience supporting audits and working with external accountants and tax advisors
  • Working knowledge of US tax and compliance requirements for operating entities
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear insights and influence business decisions
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, sales, supply chain, and corporate finance teams
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and partnering with senior leaders in a constructive, solutions-oriented manner
  • Strong ERP experience and advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and reporting
  • High attention to detail with a strong control and documentation mindset
  • Proven ability to streamline and automate recurring financial processes
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable operating across both tactical and strategic responsibilities
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
  • Structured, proactive, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
