Corporate Accounting Analyst; CPA

Position Purpose

Provides key financial reports and analysis to support senior management in planning and evaluation requirements and in meeting financial objectives related to strategic investments and acquisitions. Performs market research, competitive analysis, valuation, financial modeling, and due diligence efforts. Prepares and documents complex, non‑routine financial analysis projects and reviews or prepares financial statements and forecasts involving extractions of financial data.

This full‑time position requires an eight‑hour shift (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The workplace is on‑site at 4101 Percival Rd., Columbia, SC.

• Review and research strategic corporate finance projects such as mergers and acquisitions, investment opportunities, and other projects assigned by executive staff.
• Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data to determine business activity costs.
• Interpret financial transactions for management to make economic or business decisions, assess past performance, and project financial probabilities.
• Review and/or prepare financial statements, build financial models, and research potential acquisitions for areas lacking an appointed accounting staff.
• Complete special projects such as financial statement analysis, impairment analysis, audited financial review, vendor analysis, forecasting, general ledger reconciliations, and preparation of ad‑hoc and custom reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Management, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Seven years of financial analysis experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR three years of financial analysis experience with a master’s degree and a CPA license.
• Strong communication and decision‑making skills; ability to compile complex information, design reports, and analyze data.
• Excellent presentation, organization, and research skills.
• Academic and practical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical and modeling skills with in‑depth knowledge of financial statement analysis.
• Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts such as discounted cash flow and valuation methodologies.
