We are partnering with a private equity–backed manufacturing company to identify a hands‑on CFO/Senior Financial Leader
. This role serves as the senior financial leader and strategic partner to the President/CEO, with full responsibility for stabilizing and strengthening the finance function during a critical transformation period. The position offers significant visibility to ownership, lenders, and board stakeholders, and the opportunity to build scalable processes, enhance financial discipline, and elevate team capability.
- Lead and oversee all accounting and finance functions, including controllership, FP&A, cost accounting, tax, treasury, audit, and financial reporting
- Stabilize and upgrade close processes, reporting accuracy, forecast discipline, and cash visibility
- Build and implement a robust operating cadence around monthly close, weekly forecasts, and 13-week cash flow planning
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, commercial, HR, and IT to link business performance with financial outcomes
- Drive improvements in cost accounting, inventory management, margin analysis, and working capital optimization
- Own external audit readiness, lender reporting, tax coordination, and banking relationships
- Provide strategic support for capital investments, pricing, profitability analysis, and potential transactions (e.g., sale‑leasebacks, asset sales)
- Develop and mentor the finance team, clarifying roles, elevating performance standards, and closing capability gaps
- Establish clear reporting frameworks and board‑level materials to support decision‑making and stakeholder communication
- Lead finance transformation initiatives using a disciplined execution model focused on accountability, simplification, and measurable improvement
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including senior leadership in a manufacturing, industrial, or private equity–backed environment ($100M–$300M revenue range preferred)
- Demonstrated success in turnaround, transformation, or process improvement situations within finance organizations
- Deep expertise across all finance disciplines, including FP&A, cost accounting, audit, tax, treasury, reporting, and systems
- Strong manufacturing finance background, including standard costing, inventory, labor and overhead variances, and margin analysis
- Proven experience improving cash management, working capital, and financial forecasting (including 13‑week cash flows)
Experience partnering with auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and private equity stakeholders - Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‑finance leaders
- Hands‑on leadership style with a willingness to engage in detailed work while building scalable processes
- Strong influence and communication skills across cross‑functional teams and external partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred; Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus)
