This is a full-time, on-site Mortgage Loan Originator role based in Travelers Rest, SC. The Mortgage Loan Originator will meet with prospective borrowers, explain available loan programs, and guide clients through the mortgage application and approval process. Daily responsibilities include collecting and analyzing borrower documentation, pre-qualifying applicants, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring loans comply with regulatory and lender requirements.
The role also involves building relationships with real estate professionals, maintaining a pipeline of active loans, and following up with clients to provide updates and support through closing. The Mortgage Loan Originator is expected to deliver clear, timely communication, uphold high ethical standards, and contribute to the company’s community-focused mission.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Mortgage Lending and Loans, with a solid understanding of home loan products and borrower needs.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Loan Origination, including taking applications, structuring loans, and managing the loan process from initial contact to closing.
- Candidates should possess knowledge in Underwriting concepts, with the ability to interpret credit, income, assets, and collateral requirements.
- Candidates should possess foundational Finance skills, including basic financial analysis, interest rate and payment calculations, and familiarity with lending regulations.
- Relevant qualifications include prior experience as a mortgage loan originator or in a related lending role, and any applicable state mortgage licensing.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills, with the ability to work with diverse clients in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple files simultaneously, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
- High level of integrity and commitment to compliance with federal, state, and company lending policies; bilingual abilities are a plus.
