Business Development & Support Coordinator
This position serves as the City's primary liaison to the business community and supports the recruitment, retention, and expansion of businesses within the City of Hardeeville. Working under the general supervision of the Deputy City Manager, the Business Development & Support Coordinator helps ensure that Hardeeville is a welcoming and supportive environment for businesses. The position assists new and existing businesses with navigating City processes, supports revitalization efforts along Whyte Hardee Boulevard, and works collaboratively with City departments, property owners, and regional partners to strengthen the City's commercial environment.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for businesses seeking to open, relocate, expand, or address operational concerns within the City.
- Provide guidance to businesses on City processes including permitting, licensing, inspections, and zoning requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing Hardeeville businesses through regular outreach, site visits, and communication.
- Assist existing businesses in identifying opportunities for expansion, reinvestment, or relocation within the City.
- Work with property owners, developers, and brokers to identify and promote available commercial sites and properties.
- Support the City's efforts to revitalize and recruit businesses along Whyte Hardee Boulevard.
- Coordinate with City departments including Planning, Building, Fire, Utilities, and Public Works to facilitate business-related projects.
- Assist in identifying process improvements that make it easier for businesses to interact with the City.
- Develop and maintain a database of local businesses, commercial properties, and development opportunities.
- Assist with preparation of economic development reports, presentations, and updates for City leadership and City Council.
- Support marketing efforts in coordination with the City's Communications, Information Technology & Digital Solutions Department.
- Attend community meetings, business events, and economic development activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of business contacts, projects, and assistance provided.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Deputy City Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economic development, planning, or a related field preferred; or any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.
- Three to five years of experience in economic development, business services, community development, local government, or a related field.
- Experience working with businesses, developers, or the public is highly desirable.
- Experience in a fast-growing community or municipal environment is preferred.
