Position Overview
The Pharmacy Resident position is available for one year, beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025, at Hope Health in Florence, SC. The resident will provide evidence‑based, collaborative, patient‑centered care under the supervision of a preceptor. They will be a self‑directed, independent, motivated learner guided by the Residency Program Director and preceptors, conduct multiple projects to improve quality of patient care, advance the profession of pharmacy, evaluate sustainability of pharmacy services, and provide medication‑related education and training to health care professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Promote, manage, schedule, and conduct clinical services in the pharmacy and/or site clinic, interacting with patients and health care providers, and provide medication‑related education and training.
- Develop a research initiative at the community pharmacy practice site and conduct several projects to improve the quality of patient care, advance the profession of pharmacy, and evaluate sustainability of pharmacy services.
- Dispense prescriptions, counsel patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter products, and manage pharmacy technicians and interns.
- Participate in teaching opportunities at the practice sites and at the College of Pharmacy, assisting the site preceptor with experiential education training for college of pharmacy students and engaging in classroom teaching opportunities.

D degree from an ACPE‑accredited college or school of pharmacy. - Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of South Carolina.
- Current CPR certification.
- Qualification to administer vaccinations as required by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong interpersonal skills, innovative, team player, leadership skills, and organizational ability.
- Effective presentation and demonstration skills, both theoretical and practical.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization.

Faculty time‑limited (FTL) position for 12 months. Total hours: 37.5 per week. Full‑time. The position is open until filled.
