Scheduled weekly hours: 36 (Mid Shift 10:00 AM–10:00 PM).
Job SummaryUnder general supervision, the Registered Nurse I provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and collaborates with other members of the health‑care team to achieve desired results.
ResponsibilitiesProvide safe, effective patient care as a Registered Nurse in the emergency department; collaborate with the healthcare team; document care; participate in shift coverage; adhere to policy and procedures; maintain professional competence.
Qualifications- Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of one year’s experience as a registered nurse in an emergency department.
- Licensed registered nurse in South Carolina or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors (temperature extremes), work from elevated areas, confined spaces, kneel, bend at the waist, twist at the waist, squat, perform pinching operations, gross motor activities, firm grasp, fine manipulation, reach overhead, perform repetitive motions, use both legs, and balance.
- Lifting capacity: lift and carry 50 lb unassisted; lift 50 lb from the floor 36 in. unassisted; lift 36 in. to overhead 25 lb; exert up to 50 lb of force.
- Vision: maintain 20/40 corrected vision in one or both eyes; recognize objects; discriminate colors; perceive depth; possess peripheral vision.
- Hearing: maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
- Perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
- Handle stressful situations effectively.
- Work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Work in a latex‑safe environment.
- Respirator use (selected positions).
