- Assists OIDD providers with annual Medicaid reviews in an effort to prevent a lapse in Medicaid coverage.
- Serves as the point of contact for OIDD staff and OIDD contracted providers regarding the Medicaid eligibility process.
- Monitors participants who are receiving state funded services and assist with application to Medicaid if needed.
- Reviews Medicaid inactive report monthly to identify participants who have passed away and need to be removed from the Waiver Waiting list, ensuring the participant has been disenrolled from the waiver and that the case has been closed.
- Works the Medicaid Mismatch report each month to resolve issues with Medicaid, Date of birth and Social Security number discrepancies.
- Participates and performs other duties as assigned by the Director. Meets Policy Division expectations as outlined.
The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) plans, develops, coordinates, and funds services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of:
- intellectual disability and related disabilities
- autism spectrum disorder
- traumatic brain injury
- spinal cord injury and similar disability
This position is located at Central Office, in Cayce, SC.
A Bachelor's degree and at least five (5) years Medicaid Eligibility Program experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to exercise judgment, discretion, maintain effective working relationships, interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including excel and moderate computer skills.

South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record check; and a review of transcripts verifying educational credentials. If this position requires the applicant to work directly with consumers of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, tuberculosis (TB) skin or blood testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
