Responsible for providing nutrition care and education to patients and/or caregivers. Evaluates patients' nutritional status, develops and implements care plans, assesses nutrient requirements, recommends nutrition prescriptions, evaluates patient tolerance and effectiveness, and communicates information to physicians and other health care professionals.

• Coordinates, reviews, plans, updates, and implements medical nutrition therapy to patients according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitors patients receiving nutrition support.
• Provides nutrition education to patients, caregivers, staff and community partners.
• Serves as a preceptor for medical, dietetic and food service interns and/or clinical research.
• Participates and serves on interdisciplinary team meetings, patient rounds, multidisciplinary committees and/or discharge planning.
• Assists with performance and quality improvement projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

• Education – Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Experience – No previous experience required

If hired on or prior to December 31, 2023, must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics AND be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

• Registered Dietitian state licensure (e.g., SC LLR)
• Registered Dietitian licensure from the CDR

• Maintain 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years
• Ability to interpret data, teach, communicate to other healthcare professionals, manipulate numbers and write in medical record
