Job Description SummaryMedical technologist support high quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. MinimumExperience and Training Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline with 1 year experience, or equivalent work experience of 3 years.
Required License, Certification and RegistrationMust have met the educational requirements for and passed a recognized Certification Examination for Medical Technologist (also known as Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS). Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC). If not certified, must be registry eligible and successfully obtain certification within the first year of employment.
Physical RequirementsAbility to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, performing job functions from kneeling positions, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, performing gross motor activities with fingers and hands, performing fine manipulation with fingers and hands, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, fully using both legs, using lower extremities for balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
