As a Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you play a vital role in strengthening your community—one patient, one home, one relationship at a time. - Provide services for treating impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status under the direction and supervision of the treating occupational therapist
- Participates in the development and evaluation of the plan of care in partnership with the patient, representative (if any), and caregiver(s).
- Assists the treating occupational therapist in documenting a patient’s progress and response to treatment.
- Teaches task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore physical function, as well as sensory-integrative function.
- Teaches compensatory techniques to improve the level of independence in the activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistance (COTA) license in South Carolina.
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Successfully completed the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT) certification examination for occupational therapists
