Job Summary

Sign‑On Bonus of $15,000 available! Nights shift. Polysomnographic Technician role focused on diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Perform sleep studies and related procedures (EEG, EOG, EMG, respiratory effort, airflow, oximetry, end tidal, PAP device flow, etc.).
  • Provide clear and precise explanations of the procedure to patients and accompanying persons.
  • Recognize artifacts in the recordings, eliminate them, and take appropriate measures to monitor suspected artifacts.
  • Obtain at least 10 CEUs related to sleep annually and stay abreast of new equipment and software.
  • Maintain and clean equipment immediately after use, ensuring proper working order.
  • Apply troubleshooting methods, perform repairs or replacement of instrument parts as needed and promptly notify the manager.
  • Communicate with technical support during equipment troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of universal precautions and isolation techniques when required.
  • Lift, move, or transfer patients using proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP‑accredited Polysomnography Program or minimum 6 months of experience in sleep medicine or respiratory procedures.
  • Licensed Polysomnographic Technician – Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners;
    Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists;
    Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) – American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
