Patient Care Technician, Healthcare Nursing

Job Description Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. In a decentralized, patient‑centered setting, the PCT performs multi‑skilled activities to support patient care and achieve desired outcomes. Responsibilities include measuring and documenting vital signs, identifying patient concerns and reporting them to colleagues, and moving, turning or relocating patients to ensure comfort and meet medical requirements.
Responsibilities- Measure and document vital signs.
- Identify patient concerns and communicate to the Care Team.
- Assist with patient transfer, turning and repositioning.
- Maintain clear communication with the Manager, Charge Nurse, and other team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification required upon hire, with ongoing maintenance of BLS (American Heart Association AHA BLS or equivalent).
- Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and intuition for patient care.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and meet the additional physical requirements.
Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and performing repetitive motions with hands and wrists. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted, lift objects from 36 inches and up to 25 lbs. overhead, and maintain vision, hearing, and other physical criteria as detailed.
