Sandalwood Mental Health is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing outpatient practice in South Carolina.

This position offers the opportunity to work with a mixed caseload of adults, children, and adolescents
. We are particularly interested in a clinician with prior child/adolescent psychiatric experience who enjoys working across the lifespan.

The position is part-time to full-time and hybrid
, combining in-person appointments at our Lake Wylie, SC office with telehealth care.

We are a PMHNP-owned and clinician-led practice built around thoughtful, collaborative psychiatric care. Our model provides clinicians with greater flexibility and autonomy while offering the administrative infrastructure and support of a group practice.

Our clinicians provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care for conditions including:

• ADHD
• Anxiety disorders
• Depression
• Mood disorders
• Trauma-related disorders
• Sleep concerns
• Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions
• Other common outpatient psychiatric conditions

The PMHNP will:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Diagnose psychiatric conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide evidence-based medication management
• Monitor treatment response, clinical progress, and medication tolerability
• Incorporate supportive psychotherapy when appropriate
• Provide education to patients and families
• Collaborate with parents and guardians when treating minors
• Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, schools, and other treatment-team members when clinically appropriate and authorized
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Provide both in-person and telehealth psychiatric care
• Maintain applicable professional, prescribing, and collaboration requirements

Required:

• Current PMHNP-BC certification
• Current South Carolina APRN license + SC DEA license or ability to obtain South Carolina licensure
• Prior psychiatric experience treating children and/or adolescents
• Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and providing medication management
  
  Comfortable treating both adult and child/adolescent patients
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to provide in-person care at our Lake Wylie, SC office in addition to telehealth
• Commitment to evidence-based, collaborative, patient-centered psychiatric care
• Ability to establish and maintain a collaborating physician relationship in accordance with applicable South Carolina requirements

• Child and adolescent outpatient psychiatry
• ADHD evaluation and treatment
• Autism and neurodevelopmental conditions
• Family-centered psychiatric care
• Medicaid populations
• Integrating psychotherapy or therapeutic interventions with medication management
• Helping develop or grow a clinical service line

This position is part-time to full-time

We welcome experienced clinicians who would like to begin with a smaller schedule and gradually increase their hours as their caseload develops.

This structure may also work well for a PMHNP who currently has another position and would like to initially join Sandalwood on a limited schedule before transitioning to a larger caseload.
