Overview
The Food & Beverage Manager oversees the planning, organization, and execution of all food and beverage operations, including restaurant services, special events, and catering functions. This role is responsible for managing team performance, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining financial controls, and upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
ResponsibilitiesFood & Beverage Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all restaurant operations, special events, and other food & beverage activities to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction and expectations to team members
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and counsel food & beverage team members while ensuring compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations
- Promptly address and resolve guest complaints or issues to maintain high service standards
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to enhance communication and improve overall guest satisfaction
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and professional conduct in accordance with all applicable regulations
- Foster open communication within the department by conducting regular team meetings
- Manage departmental finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and inventory control
- Monitor and control expenditures, labor costs, and supply usage to align with financial forecasts and budgetary goals
- Coordinate with upcoming groups to organize and execute all on-site functions effectively
- Demonstrate positive leadership that inspires team members to exceed standards and fosters a culture of teamwork and empowerment
- Other duties as assigned
What are we looking for?
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality business, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort, including weekends and holidays
- Previous food & beverage management experience required
- Resort/Hotel food & beverage experience strongly preferred
- Prior banquet and special event experience strongly preferred
- Previous experience managing a team of food & beverage associates through motivation, coaching and development
- Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and homeowners, both inside and outside of the organization
- The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask
- Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision making skills.
- Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
- Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills
- Passion for providing exceptional service to guests and team members
- Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
