Every winter,
Nights of a Thousand Candles draws visitors from across the country — and around the world — to walk beneath millions of sparkling lights in one of America's most breathtaking gardens. Behind every glowing pathway is a crew that built it by hand. That's where you come in: we're hiring the team that installs, maintains, and takes down the lights for our biggest event of the year.
Hands‑on, outdoor, deadline‑driven — and unforgettable.
Great for snowbirds, retirees, career‑changers, veterans, students — anyone who wants meaningful seasonal work and a story to tell.
What This Role Requires — Please Read Before Applying- Must be comfortable climbing ladders up to 20 feet and working at heights over 50 feet — we'll train you on the 35' and 50' boom lifts.
- Must be able to work the full schedule: full‑time‑plus hours, including nights, weekends, early mornings, and late evenings during peak season. Opening night doesn't move.
- Must work outdoors in all weather — heat, cold, rain, and the occasional curious insect.
- Must be willing to wear hip waders and work in pools and ponds — the water reflections are part of the magic.
- Background check and drug screening required prior to employment. High school diploma or equivalent.
- Starting at $16.50/hour with full‑time hours and overtime during peak season.
- Real skills: professional lighting techniques, boom lift certification training, and event production experience.
