Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist (Part-Time) provides comprehensive operational and administrative support across multiple HR functions, including payroll processing, employee benefits administration, retirement plans, HR compliance, annual training initiatives, and HRIS administration. This benefits-eligible position serves as a key resource for employees and managers, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant HR operations while supporting a positive employee experience.

In addition, this role provides direct support to the Director of Human Resources by assisting with day-to-day HR operations, data reporting, compliance activities, and special projects, enabling the HR Director to focus on strategic initiatives, leadership support, and organizational priorities.

Essential Functions:

Payroll Administration
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data; identify and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the HR Director.
  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related employee inquiries.
Benefits Administration
  • Support the administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental plans.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in accordance with qualifying life events and plan rules.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment, to include employee communications, system updates, and vendor coordination.
Retirement Plans (403b/457b)
  • Assist with the administration of retirement plan operations, including enrollments, changes, and compliance activities.
  • Support audits, reconciliations, and required reporting related to retirement plans.
HR Compliance and Annual Training
  • Coordinate, track, and document required compliance and annual training programs.
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports to support audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the HR Director with compliance initiatives, internal controls, posters, and documentation related to employment laws and regulations.
HRIS Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within HR systems.
  • Support HRIS modules related to payroll, benefits, performance management, and reporting.
  • Generate standard and ad hoc HR reports to support the HR Director, CFO, and the Controller.
General HR Support
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including documentation, system entries, and coordination with internal partners.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the HR Director, to include preparing reports, tracking deadlines, and supporting HR initiatives and special projects.
  • Serve as a backup resource of HR operations during the HR Director’s absence.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, organizational, and sensitive information at all times.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting payroll, benefits, compliance, and HRIS systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing and prepare and deliver presentations
  • Competency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite and MS Dynamics.
