Position Summary:
Responsible for providing a high level of customer service support and partnership with employees and site leadership in response to inquiries and concerns. The HR Generalist will own and/or provide support for core processes including employee relations, engagement, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, policy adherence and interpretation, benefits, FMLA, ADA, payroll, investigations, and maintenance of employee data in HR systems.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all EHS policies and procedures is sustained.
Ensure conformance to IATF 16949 quality management standards is sustained. Maintain process procedures and documentation as applicable. Identify and suggest changes to procedures as appropriate.
Employee Relations:
Investigate and find resolution for employee concerns in a timely fashion. Ensure resolution is fair and consistent and complies with Magna Charter & Principles.
Support leadership with disciplinary process to ensure fairness and consistency. Participate in discussions at a final or termination level of disciplinary process.
Maintain high profile presence on production floor to assist employees and address concerns.
Foster an environment of positive employee engagement and trust.
Provide translation support (if bi-lingual).Employee Engagement:
Maintain communications for various forms of media including television screens, newsletters, Magna apps, bulletin boards, etc.
Coordinate and participate in various employee activities such as employee recognition, site celebrations, apparel orders, etc.
Coordinate and participate in activities that focus on employee retention. Examples: stay interviews, small group meetings, etc.
Recruiting:
Facilitate requisition process, create job postings, coordinate and participate in interviews, and coordinates candidate hiring process.
Maintain communication with hiring team of progress being made in filling position(s).Attend career fairs.
Creates and/or maintain student programs such as interns, co-ops, etc. Build relationships with schools and universities.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires which includes participation or supports new hire orientation, ensuring work spaces are available and ready at start of assignment, new hire paperwork, performing E-Verify, etc. Coordinate new hire data entry with shared service team.
Conduct exit interviews. Maintain termination data and analyze trends.
Performance Management:
Ensure hourly performance reviews are completed in a timely fashion and provide clear and thorough feedback.
Policy Adherence and Guidance:
Support employees at all levels of the organization with interpretation and administration of HR related policies and processes to ensure fairness and consistency.
Lead by example and ensure self-compliance with all policies and procedures.
Participate and support with the administration and updating of policies and procedures.
Benefit Administration:
Administer all benefit programs and serve as a resource on benefit questions or concerns.
Administer FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA and LOA programs.
Lead and/or support annual Open Enrollment process.
HRIS and Payroll System Maintenance:
HRIS = Workday (accuracy)
Payroll & Timekeeping = Ceridian Dayforce (accuracy)
Coordinating processing weekly payroll and semi-monthly payroll with shared service team.
Initiates hourly pay adjustments as defined for hourly compensation process.
Maintain employee files (digital and non-digital).Professionalism and Confidentiality:
Role model ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct.
Lead by example and instill high standards of professionalism from others.
Maintains confidentiality of all aspects of HR.Training & development:
