Position Overview

Responsible for the day‑to‑day activities of Computer Operations staff, ensuring scheduled work is completed on time, and resolving computer system problems. Works closely with operators and IT groups to maintain proper task turnover and service objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • 30%:
    Train, motivate, and guide staff; assign and review work; provide input to management on performance.
  • 20%:
    Manage daily activities to resolve problems and change management issues; advise lower‑level Operators on complex scheduling, malfunctions, and irregularities.
  • 20%:
    Operate and monitor computer system and related equipment to ensure all batch cycles are completed by deadline; read production schedules and job documentation to determine jobs, procedures, and input data.
  • 10%:
    Identify, monitor, and diagnose system problems; initiate corrective action; troubleshoot hardware or software issues.
  • 10%:
    Compile and maintain reports on computer operations; review equipment logs and reports on equipment efficiency.
  • 10%:
    Work with IT groups to ensure service objectives are met; review technical support process and recommend quality improvements; review all changes scheduled for the shift and provide orderly transition to the succeeding shift.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
