COBOL​/Mainframe Tester

Job Description

Pay Range: $44.50/hr – $49.50/hr

• The COBOL/Mainframe Tester will collaborate with project teams to validate coding changes within a mainframe healthcare claims processing environment.
• This role involves designing and executing test scenarios, analyzing results, resolving discrepancies, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
• The ideal candidate will have strong COBOL and mainframe experience along with healthcare claims domain expertise.

• Work collaboratively with project teams to test coding changes in a mainframe environment.
• Create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
• Execute test scripts and document results.
• Analyze test outcomes and resolve discrepancies between actual and expected results.
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with clients.

• Communicate effectively with technical teams, client staff, and other contractors.
• Assist with business, process, and technical documentation.
• Provide subject matter expertise related to mainframe and healthcare claims systems.
• Work closely with client teams to ensure testing objectives are met.

• 4+ years of experience working with Mainframe systems.
• 4+ years of experience with COBOL.
• 4+ years of experience with JCL.
• 4+ years of experience creating and executing test scenarios.
• 4+ years of experience with healthcare claims processing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with Medicaid systems.
• Experience with Serena Changeman.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with technical documentation.
• Experience with CA-ADS.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
