Location: Columbia
Responsibilities
- Provide support and maintenance of DSS network infrastructure, including local area networks at county sites, wireless access support, monitoring and support of agency switches, and assistance with office relocations and renovations, network wiring, wireless network installation, and infrastructure support to vendors for access systems and video surveillance solutions.
- Serve as main point of contact for contracted network infrastructure vendors for access control, access points, routers, switches, video surveillance, and wiring.
- Design, install, implement, and maintain all layers of network infrastructures, including LAN, wireless access, cabling, switches, routers, for voice and data networks statewide, and schedule installation and upgrades of the data and voice networks statewide.
- Work with Internal Operations to implement moves, additions, and changes to the data and voice network equipment statewide, including project management and planning for implementing and updating Agency site infrastructure.
- Update floor plans for the department.
- Perform administrative tasks related to Agency communication networks, including problem tracking, documentation of issue resolutions, procedures, and usage reports, and complete work requests to resolve problems timely with courteous service delivery.
- Help establish standards and operating procedures for reporting and resolving problems and implementing solutions and changes.
- Ensure that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared, and disposed, protecting the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment, and data.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- A Bachelor's Degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field.
- Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree on a year-for-year basis.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
The employee must be able to communicate effectively (written and orally) and write legibly.
May be required to work after hours and/or travel overnight.
Must be able to lift approximately 15-20 lbs.
