FTS Manager

Job Responsibilities

Under the limited supervision of the FTS Manager II, the candidate performs specialized technical work statewide on SCDOT owned Intelligent Transportation Systems Infrastructure to include setup, installation, testing, inspection, maintenance and repair.

• Configure, test, install and maintain new ITS network equipment including cameras, switches and modems.
• Maintain CCTV and DMS systems to ensure 95% continuous operation statewide.
• Plan, schedule and inspect work performed by contractual personnel.
• Oversee troubleshooting and repair of the ITS communications networks (fiber optic cable, copper and related components).
• Configure, test, install and maintain portable camera trailers and permanent or portable message boards.
• Inspect installation of ITS elements, perform database data entry, collection and CADD file update.
• Assist Headquarters and District personnel in maintaining local ITS systems during ordinary and extraordinary events as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Associate degree in electronics and two years of related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• Physical demands include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods; occasional overnight travel; bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling; walking for extended periods; treading rough terrain; working in close proximity to motoring traffic; and in natural environmental hazards; may require working outside normal business hours or responding to emergency situations.
