Advertised Job Summary
The Database Support Administrator is responsible for the architecture, administration, performance, and security of the University’s enterprise database environments, primarily Oracle. This role provides advanced operational support and engineering leadership across production and non-production systems, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and data integrity. The administrator supports ERP and other institutional systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operational database administration of University systems
- DBA support for application upgrades
- Performance monitoring and optimization
- Disaster recovery and data protection
- Oracle Database experience such as Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or equivalent;
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent preferred - Skills in architecture, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and RMAN backup/recovery in a Linux environment
- Experience with SQL Server and MySQL is a plus
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, with strong performance tuning and query optimization skills
- Analytical and root cause analysis skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and standards
