Job DescriptionThe Director of Technology provides leadership, planning, coordination, and oversight for all district technology systems and services. This position is responsible for ensuring that technology infrastructure, instructional technology, cybersecurity, and information systems effectively support the district’s educational and operational goals.
The Director of Technology works collaboratively with district and school leaders to promote innovative, secure, and efficient use of technology for students, staff, and the community.
Qualifications- Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in technology leadership, systems administration, or related field.
- Experience in K-12 education preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity, data systems, device management, and instructional technology.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Oversee all district technology operations, infrastructure, and support services.
- Develop and implement long‑range technology plans aligned with district goals.
- Manage district networks, servers, wireless systems, cybersecurity measures, and data systems.
- Supervise technology staff and coordinate work assignments and professional development.
- Support instructional technology initiatives that enhance teaching and learning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local technology regulations and data privacy requirements.
- Oversee technology purchasing, budgeting, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Coordinate district wide device deployment, maintenance, and replacement cycles.
- Provide leadership in disaster recovery planning and system continuity.
- Collaborate with school and district administrators to identify technology needs and solutions.
- Monitor emerging technologies and recommend improvements to district systems and practices.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods of time.
- Lift and carry technology equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Travel between district locations as needed.
- Respond to technology emergencies or urgent situations outside of normal work hours when necessary.
- Perform duties requiring visual acuity, manual dexterity, and hearing sufficient to troubleshoot and repair technology equipment.
