Job Title:
Database Administrator – Advanced (10330)
Location:
Columbia, SC (Hybrid – 2 days onsite/week)
Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)

Candidate
Location:
MUST be a CURRENT South Carolina resident (No relocation)
- Administer and maintain SQL Server environments (2016+) across multiple systems
- Perform performance tuning & optimization of:
Stored procedures Dynamic SQL Complex queries and ETL processes - Manage database security
, authentication models, and role-based access - Implement and support:
Backup & recovery strategies Disaster recovery planning High availability solutions (Always On, clustering) - Optimize large-scale datasets including case management and judicial data
- Identify and resolve:
Blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries Index fragmentation and statistics issues - Support data warehouse architecture
, including fact/dimension models - Optimize backend queries for Power BI reporting and dashboards
- Ensure data integrity, governance, and standardization across systems
- Perform data cleanup and remediation across multiple jurisdictions
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and Dev Ops pipelines for:
Schema deployments Data migrations Version control integration - Monitor and enforce security & compliance standards (CJIS, judicial confidentiality)
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams
- 7+ years of experience in SQL Database Administration & Operations
- 3+ years of experience in Performance Tuning & Optimization
- 3+ years of experience in Data Integrity & Governance Support
- 3+ years of experience in Data Warehouse Architecture & Reporting Support
- 3+ years of experience in Security & Compliance
- 3+ years of experience in Automation & Dev Ops Support
- Experience in judicial, government, or public sector environments
- Experience with Power BI backend optimization
- Knowledge of .NET application data access patterns
- Experience with Always On Availability Groups
- Experience using Azure Dev Ops
- Experience cleaning legacy data structures across multiple jurisdictions/counties
