This position supports S.C. Commerce’s Information Management and Technology Division by performing guided installations, configuring, maintenance and monitoring of web, mainframe, and/or client server technologies in either an on-premises, cloud-based, or hybrid environment.
Job Responsibilities- Performs guided installation, configuration, and monitoring of computer systems and related technologies in compliance with IT policies, standards, and security requirements.
- Assists in diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving system faults using established processes. Works with software and hardware vendors to resolve issues and correct errors.
- Assists in monitoring and maintaining system data integrity. Helps maintain hardware and software inventories and tracks assets.
- Consults with managers, administrators, and IT professionals to determine installation requirements and system changes.
- Documents system changes, processes, and configuration as needed.
A high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification in either an on-premises, cloud-based, or hybrid environment. An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
Must have moderate knowledge of information technology systems analysis, design, testing, and maintenance techniques. Moderate knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and other IT tools and resources. Ability to solve basic to moderate problems, and to apply critical thinking skills to needs and problems. Ability to follow technical directions and to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to travel in-state and across the county.
