This role is critical to our business and designed to support the convergence of the IT/OT infrastructure for MAB. The OT Systems Engineer will be tasked with leveraging expertise in IT and OT to design, deploy, and maintain integrated infrastructure solutions that optimize operational efficiency, enhance system reliability, strengthen cybersecurity defenses, and ensure seamless communications between IT and OT systems. This is aimed at safeguarding critical assets, mitigating cyber threats, and driving business success and innovation.
Accountabilities- Implement and maintain secure network architectures that facilitate communication between IT and OT systems while ensuring data integrity.
- Provide expertise in developing and supporting cybersecurity policies and procedures specific to IT/OT integration, including access controls, authentication mechanisms, and encryption methods.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and deploy resilient backup and disaster recovery solutions for IT/OT systems.
- Monitor/optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize operational efficiency.
- Document system configurations, changes and incidents to maintain a comprehensive record of the integrated infrastructure’s state and history.
- Mean Time to Detect (MTTD):
The average time taken to detect and incidents/anomalies within the integrated infrastructure. Target MTTD of x hours. - Mean Time to Respond (MTTR):
The average time taken to respond to and mitigate incidents or anomalies withing the integrated infrastructure. Target MTTR of - % of Critical Systems Availability:
Monitor availability of critical systems within the integrated infrastructure. Target: x% availability for critical systems.
- Implementation and maintenance of integrated IT/OT infrastructure. Security, reliability and performance of integrated systems. Proactively identify and address issues/risks to ensure operational continuity.
- Decision‑making process related to IT/OT integration and security strategies. Advocate for best practices and standards in IT/OT infrastructure.
- Veto any IT/OT changes that introduce unacceptable cybersecurity risk or weaken approved security controls.
- Veto architectural or network changes that threaten OT safety, reliability, or critical system availability.
- Veto deployments lacking tested recovery, rollback, or compliance alignment for critical OT systems.
- IT, OT, Cybersecurity, and operations business unit collaboration. Collaborate with vendors/3rd parties to provide the best solutions to the business.
- Collaboration with IT, Cybersecurity, D&A, and business units. Support as needed. Resources, tools, and technologies to design/deploy/maintain infrastructure. Training and professional development to stay abreast of new tech/trends/threats.
- Bachelor’s degree in or related to IT or a combination of certifications and work experience. Experience in OT related fields is beneficial. 2-4 years of experience.
- Experience with Cybersecurity. Including best practices and methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience commissioning/maintaining/monitoring various servers and services. These include VMware, SQL, AD services, VPN solutions.
- Familiarity with A&C software solutions such as those from Rockwell Automation, Inductive Automation (Ignition), Siemens, etc.
Compensation offered to prospective Team Members has taken internal equity into consideration and can vary depending on a positions’ location. The final agreed upon wage may vary based on the job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual.
