The Production Systems Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving digital tools that support Warehouse, Production, and Testing operations. This role works closely with shop-floor teams and external IT partners to ensure systems align with the shopfloor needs and enable efficient, accurate workflows. The Production Systems Specialist owns operational systems and reporting tools, drives adoption across teams, and continuously improves data visibility and process efficiency.
This position serves as the primary liaison between operations and IT, ensuring systems are practical, functional, and effectively support day-to-day execution.
- Build, configure, and support operational tools using Power BI, Power Apps, Forms, and
- Translate production and warehouse processes into practical digital workflows and systems.
- Lead implementation and shop-floor rollout of new digital tools and systems.
- Maintain and enhance existing reporting dashboards and operational tools.
- Ensure systems remain aligned with current production processes and evolving business needs.
- Own digital tools, reporting systems, and workflow automation supporting production operations.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide first-line support for shop-floor users, troubleshooting data, workflow, and user issues.
- Escalate system-level or infrastructure issues to external IT partners as needed.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for production, warehouse, and planning operations.
- Improve data visibility, reporting accuracy, and data collection consistency at the source.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through technology enablement and automation.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement system-based solutions to reduce manual processes.
- Train users on systems and workflows, ensuring consistent adoption across teams.
- Develop clear, practical training materials and standard work documentation.
- Act as liaison between operations and external IT providers to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Support prioritization and execution of system improvements and issue resolution.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose system and process issues.
- Ability to translate operational needs into practical digital solutions.
- Experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate), SharePoint and Forms or similar systems.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems quickly
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and support a fast-paced production environment.
- High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and process reliability.
- Ability to take direction and escalation issues appropriately when needed.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, or systems support role.
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
- Exposure to production, warehouse, or supply chain environments preferred.
- Experience supporting system implementations or digital transformation initiatives preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Standing over 1/3 of time.
