Title: GIS Analyst

The GIS Analyst provides support to Fort Jackson, SC. The candidate will create, update, manage, and perform quality control of SRP/ITAM GIS data for the Army. This includes maintaining data to military standards, fieldwork to ground truth data, and ensuring GIS data meets all data standards outlined by the Army. The role requires working in various weather conditions and providing field support to SRP functions.

• Geodatabase Management: Responsible for data development and maintenance for all Sustainable Range Program GIS data for Fort Gregg-Adams, VA. Ensure data is maintained to SDSFIE standards, metadata meets project requirements, and passes Quality Control checks.
• GIS Support / Subject Matter Expert (SME): Provide geospatial analysis, cartographic products, and GIS support to ITAM, Range Operations, Range Modernization, and SRP unit training, including development, maintenance, and update of Military Installation Maps (MIMs) in accordance with MIM Production Guidance Documentation (MPGD), RCMP requirements, and mission needs.
• Consultation: Engage with Installation Program Managers and staff at all supported bases on a routine basis, including reviewing data and providing status updates.
• Data Collection: Responsible for collection and evaluation of existing spatial data from disparate sources. Perform field data collection using GPS, orthorectification of aerial photography, and digitizing features from imagery.
• Reporting: Responsible for monthly reporting requirements.
• Supervision: No direct reports.

• Pre‑employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires)
• Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC); required at a minimum to complete a NACI/SF85 and successfully pass a federal background check to remain eligible for employment by CSU.
• Candidate must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

• BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field (e.g., geography, cartography, Geographic Information Science, environmental science, etc.).
• At least three years of work experience in a relevant field.

• MS/MA degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.
• Experience with creating and distributing informational products.
• Experience providing subject matter expertise to an ACOM, ASCC, and/or a Direct Reporting Unit (DRU) with RCMP‑T related tasks as demonstrated in past performance.
• Experience working on public lands with multiple land management and regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrated work experience with land rehabilitation and maintenance.
• Experience with operating All‑Terrain Vehicles and light to heavy equipment.

$65,000 to $72,000
