Are you a sharp, trial-ready litigation attorney seeking a new challenge? A leading insurance defense firm in Columbia, SC is looking for a talented attorney to join its team on a full-time contract basis. You will jump in to help defend prominent South Carolina businesses in complex and engaging litigation. You’ll handle a variety of interesting cases, from premises liability and false arrest claims to other customer and employee disputes.

This is an ongoing contract role with potential path to a permanent position if you desire it.

• Contribute to All Case Phases: Work closely with lead attorneys to advance cases from initial investigation through to trial.
• Master the Details: Draft essential litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and motions that build a strong defense.
• Prepare for Key Events: Play a crucial role in preparing for and attending depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
• Communicate Effectively: Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses to keep cases moving forward.

• A JD from an accredited law school and an active membership in the SC Bar.
• 2-6 years of hands-on experience in civil defense litigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express arguments clearly and logically.
• Significant in-court trial experience is essential for this role.
