Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience to join its dynamic civil defense team. This role provides the opportunity to work on complex legal matters, collaborate with seasoned professionals, and contribute to a thriving legal practice. Duties

Represent clients in litigation matters, including court hearings, motions, and trials

Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

Manage case files and deadlines efficiently

Provide strategic legal counsel to clients and maintain strong client relationships

Engage in discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review

Work collaboratively with partners and colleagues to develop legal strategies

Attend firm-sponsored professional development and networking events

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and legal trends

Requirements

1-3 years of litigation experience (civil defense preferred)

Strong legal research and writing skills

Excellent communication and advocacy abilities

Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively

Team-oriented with a proactive approach to legal practice

High attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills

Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

Licensed to practice law in South Carolina

Skills

Legal research and writing proficiency

Case management and organizational skills

Strong negotiation and client advocacy skills

Experience with legal technology and case management software

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
